Please note that the WCF is responsible for the competitions on the ice but not the championships as such. This means that we are unable help you with tickets, travel arrangement or other information regarding the championships. To get help with these issues, please click on the links below (when they exist)

Olympic Games

Curling was a medal sport at the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924 and returned again as a full medal sport in the Olympics at the 1998 games held in Nagano.

World Curling Championships

The World Curling Championships were first held in 1968 for the men and 1979 for the women. Between 1959 and 1967 a tournament called "Scotch Cup" was played and was considered a World Championship before the ICF was formed.

Since 2005, the World Curling Championships for men and women are be held as separate events in different locations, with 12 teams competing. One additional qualifier will be accepted from the European and Pacific Curling Championships.

    Continental Cup

    The inaugural Continental Cup was held in November of 2002. It's a Ryder Cup-like event for curling where Team North America competes against Team Europe.

    European Curling Championships

    The European Curling Championships have been held in December every year since 1975. The eight best teams qualify to the World Curling Championships the following years.
