World Senior Curling Championships 2005

Canada and Scotland win the gold medals

The Canadian men's team won the Senior gold after an even fight with the USA beating them by 5-4. Bas Buckle never needed to play his final shot since Bill Rhyme curled over when he tried to freeze on the tee with his last stone.

Until the last two ends it looked like Japan would win the Women's Seniors but a three by Scotland in the seventh put them in the lead 6-5. A nice double by Scottish skip Carolyn Morris forced Japanese skip Hatoni Nagaoka to draw to the four-foot to force an extra end but she came heavy and Scotland won the gold.
