Ford World Curling Championships 2002

Women's tournament, Draw 1

Colleen Jones starts of to get a second title

Colleen Jones of Canada started her hunt for a second title better than last year. If you don't remember, last year she lost her two first games during the first day before she got going. This year the Canadian rink won against Switzerland with 7-4 in a game where the Canucks where in control all the way.

Korea will have to wait for their first win in a WCC game. This morning they lost to Sweden with 3-7 in a game where the Swedes strategy was to wait for the Koreans to miss their take-outs. The strategy worked out well and the Swedish rink that plays the WCC for the first time got a good start.

Denmark defeated USA with 9-5 in a game where missed opportunities were common, Norway won against Germany 6-4 and Scotland won against Russia with 12-5.
