Ford World Curling Championships 2002

Men's tournament, Draw 7

Scotland close to clinch a playoff spot.

The last time Warwick Smith played Paul Pustovar in a World's he lost so the win today was double sweet. Not only did he get revenge, Scotland also leads the round-robin as the only team with 6 wins after 7 draws. Scotland didn't give USA much of a chance and not even the draw game of Paul Pustovar could change the outcome, 7-2 to Scotland. Scotland still have a tough finish though, playing both Canada and Norway in the final two draws.

Canada won over Denmark 8-5 and shares the second spot in the standings with USA. Denmark shares 4th along with Norway that defeated Switzerland with 8-4 and Finland that won against Japan 7-3. Sweden finally won a game after losing four straight, dismissing Austria 11-1.
