Ford World Curling Championships 2002

Men's tournament, Draw 3

Denmark heading for the semi's

The Ulrik Schmidt danish rink has played in three European Championship finals but never made it to the playoff's in the World's. But after the win towards USA with 12-7 today they're halfway there. It was an interesting game where USA scored a 4 in 5th to lead 5-3 and then lose an 4 in the 8th to be down 7-9. The danish rink is now along with Scotland the only undefeated team in the tournament.

Norway scored their first win in the WCC with a 7-5 result against Sweden. It was a game where misses were quite common, Sweden missed two draws for extra points for instance. Pål Trulsen was was not satisfied after the game since he doesn't play well and stated that "the only way I can hit the broom is if it's at least two feet wide..."

Canada won easily against Japan 9-2 after 6 ends, Scotland scored their third straight victory winning against Austria 8-3 and Switzerland won 9-5 against Finland.
