The 1st World Wheelchair Curling Championships ever in Sursee, Switzerland
Starting tomorrow on Tuesday January 22nd 2002, a historic event will take place in Sursee, outside Zürich in Switzerland. The first World Wheelchair Curling Championships will take place. There are altogether nine nations represented in the World Championships. There were ten teams applicated but unfortunately Germany had to withdraw their team.
The teams are playing first a round-robin from where the best four teams will advance to the semi finals, final or game for the bronze medals. The play off will take place on Saturday, January 26 with semi finals in the morning and final and bronze game in early afternoon.
In the Wheelchair curling on ice every game are played in six ends. Here below we publish the draw of the 1st World Wheelchair Championships.
