The WORLD CURLING FEDERATION (WCF) and The GERMAN CURLING ASSOCIATION (DCV)

UPDATE number 2

WCF/DCV CURLING SEMINARS and the 4th ANNUAL JUNIOR SUMMER CAMP

Füssen, Germany, July 10-21, 2002

I apologise for not issuing an update on the Fussen Junior Curling Camp 2002 as promised a few weeks earlier. But the Camp has proven to be so popular that we wished to expand it from 96 to 120 campers. But first we wanted to ensure that the proper accommodation, food, camp activities and transportation could all be handled with these increased numbers. We have checked and decided that the high level of the Camp can still be maintained ... so we look forward to welcoming 120 junior curlers to Fussen! We are just waiting for the final details on a few of the participants and then a name-list of the 20 people in each of the six groups will be published (at the latest July 4th) on this site.

The participants are coming from Italy-9, Canada-4, Netherlands-7, Russia-11, Switzerland-8, Sweden-9, Scotland-1, Czech Republic-12, Norway-1, Denmark-12, and Germany-46.

At this time the schedule can be published. Every group has 7 classroom sessions, 8 on-ice sessions, 1 sport session in the arena gymnasium, and 1 special sports activity at an outside facility (nothing too strenuous, but a chance to have a short break from all the curling activities). Other points to notice: the Meet & Greet is Wednesday night between 17:00-18:30 at the arena; Wednesday's evening meal is between 18:00-1900; try to be at the Fussen arena before 19:00 as the transportation departs to the Youth Hostels at that time; Friday afternoon everyone will be taken to the fun bobsled run; the Camp barbecue is Friday night; the Camp's big curling shoot-out will be on Saturday evening followed by some music at the arena; and that the Camp finishes between 12:00-13:30 on Sunday.

I hope this information helps .... have a safe trip to Fussen.
